St. Mary's Anglican Church, PONOKA

W"our website. We are a small intimate congregation of about 40 worshippers; we  enjoy lively worship and attach a lot of importance to prayer. Our music ranges from traditional Anglican to Country & Western with guitar. We are an inclusive church where love and Christian fellowship abound.

What We Do

We meet for worship every Sunday at 11.00 a.m., and the Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion/Mass) is usually celebrated. Our service is very musical in a fairly light and tasteful way. Baptized children may also receive the Sacrament at the discretion of their parents. We enjoy staying for coffee and a chat in the church hall after service. Mid-week Eucharists are held on special Saints' days and are announced accordingly. We have an active Prayer Chain and offer a prayer ministry at the Eucharist.

We have a very active women's group under the title ACW (Anglican Church Women). This group is a real "power house" for fund-raising through various activities.

What's New?

REASON TO BELIEVE - Preaching Mission 2008 May 7, 8 & 9, concluding on the Feast of Pentecost. On Wed, Thur and Fri evenings at 7.30. Speakers are Thomas Brauer, Rick Chapman and Brian Melbourne. Good modern music led by a guitar band, and a guest musician. Come and get answers to questions about the "reason to believe". Supper is provided! 

Bible Study is held on Wednesday afternoons at 3.00, studying the Gospel of St. John.

Our patron saint St. Mary with the infant Jesus, attributed to Titian (1477-1576)
