St. Mary's Anglican Church, PONOKA

Within Christianity there are differing traditions concerning biblical interpretation.  In general, contemporary Anglicanism embraces a scholarly approach to the Bible, which does not necessarily take everything at "face value". While accepting the Bible as a whole, as the Word of God, we treat the gospels of the New Testament as our primary guide, because they provide an account of the life and teaching of Jesus Christ - God incarnate. We also understand that our gospel writers each had a point of view about Jesus, and that this is reflected in their writings. They were devoted to our Lord, and provided their accounts guided by the Holy Spirit.
